Los Angeles County Superior Court, Teen Court Program The court system operates 33 Teen Courts in high schools around the county. The program is aimed at educating students about the law and its consequences and offers juvenile offenders an alternative to having a record of criminal convictions if teens complete their sentences within six months. About 20,000 students participate in the program each year.
The State Bar of California Board of Trustees established the Education Pipeline Award in 2008 to recognize outstanding efforts of law-related educational programs that train and support students who are interested in the judicial system and careers in the law.
