Assistant Chief Trial Counsel

Department: Chief Trial Counsel/Enforcement
Description: The State Bar of California has an immediate Executive staff opening in its Office of The Chief Trial Counsel in Los Angeles. Reporting to the Chief Trial Counsel, the selected candidate will manage and lead a litigation team charged with the investigation and prosecution of attorney disciplinary matters before The State Bar Court and other jurisdictional venues. The office seeks an experienced and successful candidate committed to public protection enforcement of the profession, and carrying out the objectives and mission of the office. This is a unique opportunity for an exceptional prosecutorial leader in an enforcement unit for the nation’s largest State Bar.
Qualifications: Active membership in good standing in the State Bar of California. A demonstrated verifiable reputation for integrity and no history of disciplinary offenses as an attorney or in any other capacity. Minimum seven (7) years progressively responsible active experience in the practice of law, including prosecutorial or similar experience in administrative agency proceedings. Minimum of three (3) years management/supervisory experience administering personnel and budget requirements. Master's degree in a relevant field may substitute for up to two (2) years of experience.
Annual Salary Range:
$116,922.00 - $171,983.00

Information Technology Manager (Los Angeles or San Francisco)

Department: Information Technology
Description: The IT Manager assists the IT Director of Technology Systems (DTS) with leading, managing and supporting the State Bar of California’s systems operations infrastructure.  The Manager will work closely with the DTS planning, organizing, directing, staffing and controlling technology functions and/or operations of the IT Operations department. The candidate will need to have demonstrated proficiency in people and process management, contract management, service delivery, help desk, production support, design, planning, implementation and troubleshooting expertise, practices and strategies with experience in medium to large network infrastructures.  The scope of responsibility for this candidate begins at the design, planning, implementation and proactive monitoring of server and network equipment to support existing and new applications. It includes security, performance monitoring, configuration management, and issue escalation and resolution.  The candidate will have responsibility to manage and support a team to consistently deliver a high level of customer service. In addition, the candidate may serve as project manager; may provide technical expertise for a particular functional area; and performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Possession of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in computer science or information systems.  Possession of one or more approved information technology certificates and/or completion of other approved technology-related training may substitute for some or all of the required education. Four (4) years of systems and/or application management experience in a complex information systems environment with responsibility for supervising/directing technical staff. 
Annual Salary Range:
$96,630.00 - $140,172.00
