Date: June 23, 2020
Time: Applicants using laptop computers must be seated no later than 7:20 a.m. All applicants must be seated no later than 7:30 a.m. The examination will begin immediately following the instructions. The morning essay session is four hours and the afternoon multiple-choice session is three hours.
Additional information concerning the timing and other administrative rules and policies are contained in the admittance ticket bulletin that will be available for printing with your admittance ticket for the examination. The admittance ticket bulletin is also available online.

Late filing information
In addition to the application fee, all applications filed between the dates listed below must be accompanied by a late filing fee:
April 2, 2020 – April 30, 2020 $25
May 1, 2020 – May 15, 2020 $200
Requests to withdraw from the June 2020 First-Year Law Students’ Examination must be received by the State Bar’s Office of Admissions on or before the dates listed below in order to qualify for a refund.
March 1, 2020 – May 1, 2020 (30 days after timely filing deadline) 60% refund
May 2, 2020 – May 18, 2020 (45 days after timely filing deadline) 30% refund
May 19, 2020 – June 9, 2020 0% refund

The transfer of fees from one examination to another is prohibited.
Refunds requested due to hospitalization, death or call to active duty will be considered in accordance with the Committee of Bar Examiners’ refund policy. The refund form and copies of the policy are available on the State Bar website. Withdrawal requests can be submitted by logging into the Admissions Information Management System and accessing the Applicant Portal.
If admittance tickets are lost, a duplicate can be requested by contacting the Office of Admissions.
Results from the June 2020 First-Year Law Students’ Examination are scheduled to be released electronically through the Admissions Management Information System Applicant Portal to applicants on August 7, 2020.
