Webinar: Explaining the Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS)

1.0 Total Participatory MCLE Credits (No Ethics)

Thursday, March 25, 2010, 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Pacific Time.

The California Air Resources Board (ARB) has recently finalized its Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) that calls for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from California’s transportation fuels by 10 percent by 2020. The LCFS is intended to reduce 16 million metric tons of GHG emissions by 2020 from the largest GHG emitting sector in California and to boost the market for alternative-fuel vehicles. This regulation has been described by ARB representatives as the most important early-action called for under AB 32 – the Global Warming Solutions Act (Nunez, 2006). This program is intended to introduce practitioners to this important new regulation by policy analysts who were instrumental in developing it. Speakers: Simon Mui and Floyd Vergara.

To register, see Explaining the Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) or go to www.calbar.org/online-cle and click on "Tele-Seminars and Webinars".
