Re-RULPA: California's New Limited Partnership Act

This program will analyze and discuss California's new Limited
Partnership Act ("Re-RULPA"). Topics include the structure and
content of Re-RULPA, how it modified existing limited partnership
law, its advantages and disadvantages and unanswered questions. The
will be an overview of the transition rule for new and existing
limited partnership and the reasons an existing partnership might
want to elect into the new Limited Partnership Act. There will be a
question and answer period during the last ten minutes.

Melvin A. Eisenberg
Receives Lifetime Achievement Award: Since 1997, the Business Law Section has
conveyed its annual Lifetime
Achievement Award to a deserving person who is honored during
the Business Law Breakfast at the State Bar Annual
Meeting. In 2008, Melvin A.
Eisenberg was presented
with the award on Friday morning, September 26 at 8 a.m. in the
Pavilion Tent directly outside of the Portola Plaza Hotel in
Monterey.
Professor Eisenberg is a graduate of Harvard Law School, and
joined the faculty of Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of
California at Berkeley in 1966, where he has superbly taught
several generations of business lawyers. Professor Eisenberg is
widely recognized as one of the leading scholars of corporate and
contract law. His numerous articles and law reform efforts have
helped shape today’s U.S. corporate law. He won the UC
Berkeley Distinguished Teaching Award in 1990, the Rutter Award for
Teaching Distinction in 2002 and the Faculty Lifetime Achievement
Award in 2008. For more information about his accomplisments and

The Section is proud to offer a wide array of publications. We
