The State Bar launches a regular series of short video explainers for attorneys and consumers on select Rules of Professional Conduct. First up: Rule 8.4.1, which prohibits attorneys and law firms from engaging in unlawful discrimination, harassment, and retaliation in their professional practice, both as an employer and in serving clients and prospective clients.
A new consumer website summarizes the State Bar's proposal to license a new kind of legal professional in California who could provide more affordable options for handling routine matters in specific practice areas, such as family law and housing. Members of the public are invited to provide their feedback through January 12, 2022.
