The State Bar of California is seeking candidates for a position on the California Rural Legal Assistance (CRLA) Board of Directors, which is a nonprofit that works to increase legal aid in the state's attorney-strapped rural counties.
Today the State Bar released a draft of its 2017 Annual Discipline Report for review by the Board of Trustees’ Regulation and Discipline Committee on April 16. The final Report, which provides an overview of the performance of the attorney discipline system, will be submitted to the Legislature on April 30.
The State Bar of California has issued guidelines for attorneys in anticipation of a new Rule of Court that would require re-fingerprinting of all active licensees. This will allow the agency to obtain criminal record information in compliance with state law.
