Why work for the State Bar of California?
Our vital public
protection mission makes for challenging and meaningful work, while our culture
embraces diversity, encourages innovators, and values employees as our greatest
We are an administrative arm of the California Supreme Court and the nation's largest attorney regulatory agency. We are 600 employees, headquartered in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Our mission is to protect the public and includes the primary functions of licensing, regulation and discipline of attorneys; the advancement of the ethical and competent practice of law; and support of efforts for greater access to, and inclusion in, the legal system.
Our pursuit of this mission is guided by five values: clarity, investing in our people, excellence, respect, and growth mindset.
Make a Difference
Develop and Grow
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
It’s the diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives of our employees that help our workforce make a difference in the lives of our fellow Californians.
We invest in our employees’ growth and career development and offer competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and an inclusive working environment. In addition, the State Bar offers hybrid schedules for most of our positions, which allows employees to work remotely up to three days per week.
If you’re an innovator with a passion for public service, join our team and help us advance our mission of protecting the public.
"What makes my work here meaningful is the camaraderie and collegiality of the entire team. As an attorney with over 20 years of experience, I can honestly say that I’ve never worked with such a wonderful group of people who are always generous with their time, knowledge, and support as I have here at the State Bar."
