As California’s largest legal aid funder, the State Bar works to improve legal services access among low- and moderate-income Californians. In 2024, we distributed more than $180 million in legal aid grants and supported projects that promote access to justice. The State Bar also works to support diversity in the legal profession so that it reflects our diverse state.

Promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

The State Bar promotes policies and programs, such as the DEI Leadership Seal program, to eliminate bias and promote a diverse and inclusive environment in the legal profession and for the public it serves.
