The Rules of the State Bar provide that “If a rule refers to the Schedule of Charges and Deadlines, the referenced date or amount is part of the rule.”1 Unrevised rules state such amounts or dates in their text or otherwise indicate what they are.
Charges and deadlines are adopted by the Board of Trustees unless otherwise indicated. Note: Charges are base amounts that may be increased as specified by rule or otherwise authorized by law.

5In order to transition the MCLE reporting deadline to March 30 to coincide with the revised annual fee deadline, the Board of Trustees, as authorized by rule 9.31 of the California Rule of Court, has exempted all compliance groups from one standard 36-month compliance period and replaced it with a single 38-month cycle ending on March 29. Following the conclusion of each compliance group's single 38-month cycle, the compliance group is subject to the standard 36-month cycle, commencing on March 30 of the respective year and ending the day before the deadline 36 months later.
