David Jargiello is an attorney member of the State Bar of California Board of Trustees, appointed by the California Supreme Court in 2025.
Mr. Jargiello is a Partner at Holland & Knight LLP and a member of the firm’s Corporate, M&A and Securities Section. He practices with the firm’s Legal Services Transactions and Legal Profession Teams, advising clients at the intersection of business transactions and the laws governing lawyers. Mr. Jargiello principally represents lawyers, law firms, legal departments, legal technology companies, private equity sponsors, investors and other legal industry participants in strategic transactions and regulatory matters involving the business of law.
Before joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Jargiello was a Partner at VLP Law Group LLP, where he chaired the firm’s Professional Responsibility and Risk Management Practice Group and served as General Counsel. He helped structure and launch VLP with its founders in 2008. Mr. Jargiello also previously served as Venture Partner and General Counsel of Flywheel Ventures, a seed and early-stage venture capital firm. Earlier in his career, he was a Partner and firmwide General Counsel of Heller Ehrman White & McAuliffe and a Shareholder and General Counsel of Venture Law Group. He was one of Venture Law Group’s original 14 founding attorneys, who left Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati to establish the firm in 1993.
In addition to practicing law, Mr. Jargiello is a Lecturer at the University of California Berkeley School of Law where he teaches Professional Responsibility. He also writes, speaks and consults frequently on the spectrum of professional and business matters that confront lawyers and law firms, and is a former member of the State Bar of California’s Committee on Professional Liability Insurance and Committee on Professional Responsibility and Conduct.
Mr. Jargiello received his law degree from the University of California, Berkeley, a masters degree from Stanford University, and his undergraduate degree from Case Western Reserve University.
