Note: If you signed up to use a laptop for the California Bar Examination, you must certify your laptop with ExamSoft before the first day of the examination. Please note that the ExamSoft’s new computer-based-testing software is Examplify.
If applicants need to stay near the test center or need special accommodations, they will have to make a request to the Office of Admissions.
The October 2020 California Bar Exam application will be available to immediate repeaters on May 8, 2020, after 6:00 p.m.
Preparing for the exam may take months. Help yourself by looking at what the test covers and how it is graded.
Results from the February bar exam will be released in mid-May. The results for the October bar exam are expected to be released mid-January 2021. The State Bar is actively working on shortening the grading timeline so
that applicants receive their results on an expedited schedule.
Credit and debit card payments: For credit or debit card payments, a processing fee of 2.5 percent will be added to all charges. If your credit or debit card transaction is denied, you will not be able to submit your application until you provide another Mastercard, Visa, American Express or Discover card.
ACH (e-check) Payment: You may also make payment by ACH. If the payment is declined or is rejected for insufficient funds, your application will not be considered complete until a replacement payment with any imposed late fees and service charges is received.
