The California Supreme Court announced seven appointments and one reappointment to the State Bar of California’s Board of Trustees and the Committee of Bar Examiners, effective September 19.

Public member José Cisneros will serve as chair of the Board of Trustees for a one-year term, replacing attorney Brandon Stallings as chair. Trustee Cisneros is currently the Board’s vice-chair. The court has appointed attorney David Jargiello to fill Stallings’ impending vacancy. 

The court also appointed public member Dr. Mark Toney to a one-year term as board vice-chair. Trustee Toney is current Board Audit Committee chair. 

In addition, attorney Alan Yochelson has been appointed to a one-year term as chair of the Committee of Bar Examiners, and attorney Ashley Silva-Guzman will serve a one-year term as vice-chair. Mr. Yochelson is currently vice-chair. 

Attorney Bethany Peak has been reappointed to another four-year term, and attorneys Christopher Reed and Michael Lee have been appointed to four-year terms.
