Advisors*

* Appointed by the State Bar President, a Commission advisor is a volunteer who serves as an expert resource available to counsel or otherwise assist the Commission and its staff in their work. Although attendance at Commission meetings is not required, an advisor has an open invitation to attend both open and closed session meetings and to participate in the Commission’s discussions. Procedurally, an advisor does not vote, is not counted for purposes of a quorum, and may not make parliamentary motions. An advisor is bound by confidentiality and subject to privilege to the same extent as a member of the Commission when participating in a closed session meeting or receiving non-public Commission materials. An advisor is listed on the Commission’s roster but is not authorized to speak on behalf of the Commission.
