SAN FRANCISCO, May 12, 2016 — The State Bar of California will begin live webcasting of its Board of Trustees meetings starting today.

“This technology will provide State Bar members and the public with greater access to our board meetings,” Executive Director Elizabeth Rindskopf Parker said. Webcasts are used by the California Legislature, the Judicial Council and most recently by the California Supreme Court

“We’re delighted to be adopting the best practices already identified by our oversight bodies in the judicial and legislative branches,” Parker said.

The webcasts can be accessed through links posted on the Meetings: Board of Trustees. The streams are scheduled to be live today and tomorrow.

The Board of Trustees is the governing and policymaking body of the 257,000-member organization. The board meets approximately eight times a year to consider organizational, policy and regulatory matters.
